About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog. If you like flowers and gardens, housey stuff, food and banter, then this is the place for you. I am a decorative artist, florist and maker of things. I sell painted furniture, plants and crafts, through a local retail shop, in my native Ireland, and wedding flowers from home. I am married to a lovely patient man and have a smashing little girl. I blog for the fun of it. Thank you for listening.

Burning the Midnight Oil!

A recent pic of me and my niece  Florence.

I  wondered dear fellow bloggers if you would be so kind as to click on this link and look at my new Website, and tell me honestly what you think. I know I need more Wedding photos, but that will come in time. Is is easy to find your way around? Is it clear? Does it look well? I know it's a little cheeky of me to ask you, but I just cannot look at it anymore, and who better to ask!

Excitement is building for Saturday, and perhaps an element of panic is creeping in. No, I will not panic, I will be fine!

The furniture painting workshop went really well, and we are lining up for another and the chalk paint has been very well received.

Here is my link www.flowersonmytable.co.uk, if you could spare the time to have a little lookie, I would just love you to bits!

I will have photos for you after my unveiling. I am sorry to keep you waiting, but I would like to do it all at once, rather than in dribs and drabs. Besides, I haven't got enough to show you yet (eek I better get myself to bed!)
Goodnight and God Bless, love Linda xx

Happy Monday!

Taking a walk in the park I had to stop and photograph these little beauties, they were everywhere. Now I am not too sure if they are wild garlic or wood anemones. but either way I love them.

I apologize that my last post was a little gloomy, but I am back to my happy self...hooray!

Sorry they are a bit far away, but there were loads of primroses in the park too, just the thing to brighten your day. I am very busy getting ready to teach at a Furniture Painting Workshop on Thursday night. It will be in the shop (Nannabelle's Gifts), where I will be having some retail space. They are now a distributor of Autentico Paint, an Italian chalk paint. They have a tremendous range of colours and the paints are lovely to work with. Here is a small range of colours to let you see.......

I will be officially opening my little 'potting shed' on Saturday 4th May, and I am busy painting, sewing and thinking! I will take photos when it is all set up I promise. My website is almost ready to go live, so it's all very exciting. I haven't had much time for reading your blogs, but I will get to you very soon. Have a wonderful week, with love, Linda x

Monday Blues

I know it technically isn't Monday any more, but I did promise to post every Monday no matter what.So week 1, I have failed miserably!

I have had a bit of a bad day today.Last night I visited a lot of my blogging friends that I haven't been to in a while, and some are going through very difficult heartbreak. I feel sad for them and guilty that my life is very good. I know this isn't the right way to think, my getting sad and low doesn't help anyone.

Blogging is a funny thing, it is like writing letters to your friends, you bare your soul sometimes and in so doing you make people connect with you on a different level.Once you have that connection, it makes you  close, and then you feel their joy and their frustration and their pain.

Keeping my eye to business!

Image from here.

Hello my dear readers and followers, so sorry for my long absence. I have been a busy bee, baking for 50th birthday celebrations and joint boy/girl christenings. I have been TRYING to set up a website and facebook  page, and wrestle with a new camera and computer. My head is about to explode with knowledge and learning!

I have been forming a friendship with the owner of a local giftshop and tea room and together we have been brainstorming and planning new and exciting things, that will add something to our town..I can't really say too much at the moment, but I will most certainly keep you all posted. I have also been offered some space in her shop , to sell plants and flowers and handmade goodies. As you can imagine, I am giddy as a goose, trying to stay calm and focused.

I have never been one for routine, but realise that I am not being fair to you,my loyal readers, by posting spasmodically, so I plan to post every Monday from now on. Thank you for continuing to visit me and leave your lovely comments, they mean a lot. Wishing you all a happy week ahead, love Linda x

This could be me soon!!! Image from here.
