Flowers in the home

Aren't these roses just gorgeous? My sister Lesley brought them from her garden, she inherited them when she bought her house, not only do they look lovely, the scent is heavenly. Of all the types of flowers you can have, and all the differing arrangements, I love flowers from the garden best, stuffed into jugs, over-spilling with their generosity and beauty. Today I am linking up with the lovely  Jane from Small but Charming for her Flowers in the House feature. She is a very talented Florist, Gardener and Caterer and her blog is full of fun and friendly banter and well woth a visit if you haven't been before.

Some other lovely flowers soon to be in my home.........yay, I am so excited! I have won another giveaway, yes me, who NEVER wins anything! It was on my first visit to Mary Poppins, a lovely blog dedicated to crafty things and Shabby Chic living. Mary also makes and sells lovely bags, lavender hearts etc. on Etsy. So thankyou so much Mary, I am thrilled to have won your gorgeous giveaway and shall wear it with pride!

Some lovely yellow roses from my garden and fabulous Peonies brought to me by my other sister Tracey. I am a very lucky girl today!

I would also like to share with you some lovely bunting made by the very clever Wendy fom 15 Coast Road she made it from old tea-towels and backed it with vintage fabric. As usual with everything that Wendy does it is beautifully made. She sent me a gorgeous little card of a sailing boat that she had made, which so reminds me of her blog and where she lives and 2 beautiful little tags that I need to find a special home for. Thankyou Wendy I am delighted!

  1. Linda, So happy you came to the party!

Aren't you lucky to have such generous sisters?

I am a touch envious of the beautiful roses everyone seems to have in their homes. Must be better gardener.

And peonies ready to pop? You've got it all going on!

  2. Hello Linda:
Your Roses are indeed lovely and yes, so important to have scent. It is so disappointing, we feel, to see lovely old-fashioned Roses but without a trace of perfume. It just does not seem right to us.

And how wonderful to have won such a beautiful 'Mary Poppins' bag! We never win anything either so we can well imagine your excitement!

  8. I am so envious of all you bloggers who have roses in your garden. They just don't grow well for me at all, apart from one which is a very pale pink/cream growing over an archway. And even that has rust spots and whitefly!

Thanks for your concern re the snake...I am surprisingly calm about the whole thing! I haven't seen it for a few days so it's a bit of 'out of sight out of mind'
